Emperor’s Challenge Pai Gow (or double handed poker) is an American-style take on pai gow played with a standard 52-card deck and a joker card. It’s played on a six player table with a dealer. Each player tries to defeat the Banker, which could be either another player or the Dealer.
To win, players must create two hands out of the seven-card hand he is dealt by the Dealer. Each player receives a five-card hand and a two-card poker hand.
To begin, all cards are shuffled and dealt to the table in seven face-down stacks of seven cards per stack. Regardless of the number of players, four cards are left unused.
Two-card hands are one pair and high cards only. Only the highest qualifying hand is paid and prizes are shown as a percentage, meaning the Player receives that percentage of the displayed jackpot. Prizes displayed as a fixed dollar amount means the winnings are a fixed dollar amount.
